The Bali Dynasty Resort is one of the best family resorts in Bali. A huge range of activities for both kids and adults, no chance of getting bored at the Bali Dynasty Resort! The family rooms are very affordable and the food prices are also very reasonable.
We have stayed 3 times at Bali Dynasty Resort, in 2023, 2019, and 2018. The kids love Bali Dynasty resort! The family rooms were great value for the family, Mason loved the water slides and Charlotte enjoyed her spa treatment.

Dynasty Hotel Bali Overview
Located just a 10-minute drive from the Bali Airport, the Bali Dynasty Resort is a kid’s paradise. Not located directly on the beach, a short 50-meter walk from the back gate will deliver you to the beach. While not in the centre of Kuta, there is still a range of shopping malls nearby and Waterbom Waterpark is a 650-metre walk from the front of the resort.

Pools at Bali Dynasty Resort
There are 3 pools at Bali Dynasty Resort. The main pool includes a deep area and shallow pool, the 2nd pool features a waterslide/splash park pool, and there is also an adult-only pool.
Main Pool
The main pool is where all the action happens in the afternoon with the music pumping and the activities enjoyed. It is not a quiet, relaxing place to be but a lot of fun! The morning is calmer and you can enjoy a quieter swim then.
Kids Pool with Splash Park and Waterslides
The kid’s pool area is a lot of fun but not a huge space for a lot of kids. It is open from 8 am – 6 pm and the water zone and water slides open from 9 am-6 pm. You can tell it has been well used over the years but all the kids were having a great time including the activities that the staff were running. The kids can not access the kids’ club from this area even though it is adjacent to the kids club.
Lazy Pool (Adults only zone)
I managed to escape to the adults-only pool for a swim. It was nice to not have kids running by but you could still hear the noise from the main pool. The adults-only area was a nice spot to escape and you can now enjoy the hot tub too.
Bali Dynasty Resort Rooms
The Dynasty website has great details about each room type and below I list the different family room types that I have stayed in or viewed over the years.
Kids Suites
These rooms are fantastic for families. Our kids loved the bunk beds and Mason especially loved the Angry Birds linen. The balcony was a beautiful quiet spot to sit and enjoy a drink while the kids were in bed. The included bath was a bonus but did have a shower curtain which can always be fun with kids! The PlayStation was an added bonus of the kid’s suites.
Deluxe Pool View
I stayed in this room in August 2018. I loved the view of the pool from the balcony and when the doors were closed most of the noise from the pool was blocked out. If you are after an extra quiet room if you have a bub or toddler that needs quiet during the day to sleep, I would choose a garden-facing room.
The room was a good size and up to 2 adults and 2 kids can stay in the room (note: there is an extra cost for the kids and the 4th occupant must be under 6 years old). The bathroom was an okay size with a shower only and a glass screen.
Family Pool View
The location is perfect if you want easy access to the main pool area. Only steps away from jumping straight into the pool would be perfect for families that want to be near all of the action. Beautiful terrace with a couple of chairs to enjoy a drink while the kids are in bed.
Family Studio
We stayed in this room type in August 2023 and I also viewed this room type in 2019 as shown in the video. If you are after easy access to the street these family rooms are the best choice. No pool noise from these rooms but they do overlook the entrance to the hotel.
Only a couple of minutes walk to the pools and kids club. These rooms are slightly bigger than the other family rooms of similar design but do not have a bathtub. The bathroom can get cramped when traveling with teens!
Family Suites
I was shown through the new family suites in April 2019 and was impressed with the space and how modern it was. The suite I saw was on the 1st floor overlooking the H20 bar. The suites have a master bedroom with an ensuite and a separate living space with a kitchen, toilet, shower, and fold-down beds. These rooms fit 2 adults, 3 kids, and 1 infant in a porta cot.
Family Lagoon Pool Access
These rooms are the original Family Garden Rooms that are close to the kids club. There are 16 Family Lagoon Pool Access rooms and there is also a deck with lounge chairs and table settings. These rooms can sleep 5 people and have direct access to the lagoon pool with a kid’s safety gate provided on the terrace.

Facilities at Bali Dynasty Resort Hotel
Bali Dynasty Resort looks after the kids with a kids waterslide, splash park, kids playground, awesome kids club, and gaming room.
Kids Club
Open from 9 am to 6 pm the Bali Dynasty kids club is amazing for the kids and parents too! On the ground floor is the Kupu Kupu Kids’ Club for ages 4 to 9 years old. On the first floor is The Den Teen Club for kids aged 9 to 16 years old. These ages can be flexible, just chat with the awesome kid’s club staff. Kids under 4 are welcome but need an adult or nanny with them at all times in the kid’s club.
Kids movie nights are every Tuesday and Saturday from 6 PM to 9 PM. Pre-booking is essential to join in on the fun. The cost is 182,000rp per child which includes a kid’s buffet dinner, popcorn, ice cream, fresh fruit, and movie.
Bali Dynasty Babysitting Service
Gaming Room
A new addition to the offering for the kids at Bali Dynasty is the gaming room located near the lobby. You can book a time to try out the VR, PS5, and XBOX. Costs
Kids Playground
This area for the kids included slides, swings, and other fantastic entertainment, especially for younger kids. The best part was the enclosed fence so you could let them run around and have fun without worrying about them escaping.
Other Activities
There are many other activities and things that you can do at the Bali Dynasty Resort, never a chance to get bored!
Ashoka Spa
The Bali Dynasty spa Ashoka is great value and I enjoyed the massages I have experienced.
Market at Bali Dynasty Resort
Each night from 6:30 pm next to Cafe Piazza was a market set up. If shopping out in the chaos of Kuta is too much this is a great way to get souvenirs or gifts.
Bali Dynasty Food Options
The Dynasty has a great range of restaurants available and they serve reasonably priced food.

H20 (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

H20 Breakfast
Was a lovely spot for breakfast overlooking the main pool at The Dynasty. For breakfast, guests staying in the family and executive rooms have access to this restaurant for breakfast. If you would like to enjoy a latte or cappuccino with your breakfast it will cost you extra.

During the week there are different-themed buffets served at H20. Costs are Rp 240,000 ++ per person, 7-12 yrs old 50%, and child aged 6 and under eats free from the buffet when accompanied by a full-paying adult.

Breakfast at Sen5es
Open 6 am-10:30 am and is for guests staying in Deluxe Rooms and Deluxe Pool View Rooms.
I enjoyed the buffet breakfast at Sen5es restaurant and appreciated the air conditioning after my early morning walk. If you are staying in the rooms that have access to H20 you can choose to have breakfast in Sen5es restaurants. There was a good range including facilities for the kids like high chairs and plastic cups.
Gracie Kelly’s (Irish Pub)
Open 12 noon till late
Gracie Kellys is so much fun with the kids and the food is delicious. Great spot to watch sports including AFL or F1 and is located at the front of the entrance to Dynasty Resort. Gracie Kelly’s is also open for the public so feel to drop in for a drink and food even if you aren’t staying at Bali Dynasty Resort.
Cafe Piazza
Open 8:30 am-9:30 pm
I ordered a latte from the Cafe and it was delicious. Great spot for a coffee and cake during the day.
D Lounge
Open 6 pm – 10 pm but I also did get served an espresso martini at 4 pm while we checked in 😉
Located next to the lobby, this cocktail bar is a lovely spot to enjoy a cocktail while the sun goes down before you head for dinner.
Golden Lotus (Chinese Restaurant)
Cantonese Dim Sum (Every Sunday)
Cantonese a la carte menu (Every Monday – Saturday)
Open Daily: Monday to Saturday for Lunch: 1 pm to 3 pm and Dinner: 6 pm to 10 pm
Sunday for All You Can Eat Sunday Dim Sum: 10 am to 2.30 pm and Dinner: 6 pm to 10 pm
During our April 2019 stay, I dined at the Golden Lotus and it was very yummy! Good value and authentic Chinese. Check out the website for more details.
Kids need to chill out in the room and you can’t be bothered to go out for dinner, The room service menu has something for every hour of the day. Perfect for landing after a late-night flight.
Sunset Bar (near the adults-only pool)
Open daily from 11 am to 8 pm they have happy hours at this bar and on different nights have live music. Happy Hours are from 12 noon to 1 pm and 5 pm to 6 pm offering a 50% discount off house cocktails, local spirits and soft drinks, and 25% off house wine and Bintang beer.
Premier Departure Lounge
Open 11 am-11 pm
Located on the ground level, adjacent to Café Piazza, the lounge is reserved exclusively for departing guests. It includes a reception desk, seating areas, WiFi access, and a refreshment station with coffee, tea, juices, soft drinks, and nibbles. Changing rooms for both genders will feature digital lockers and shower amenities. There is also a dedicated kid’s corner that will keep youngsters entertained for hours.
With seating for up to 48 people, the Premier Lounge is a facility that will take the hassle out of having to wait around for a late flight. An entrance fee of just IDR 125,000 net per adult, will provide peace of mind in knowing that there is somewhere to unwind, eat, drink, and shower in full air-conditioned comfort. 50% charge will apply for children under 12 years of age when accompanied by an adult.
Bali Dynasty Resort Access to The Beach

Extra info about the resort
The Dynasty Resort also has a mini-mart and shop on the ground floor under the lobby.
Outside Bali Dynasty Resort
The Bali Dynasty Resort is not in the heart of Kuta but is a short distance from Waterbom Water Park and has shops nearby including Lippo Mall and Discovery Mall. A couple of good coffee shops close by are Elephant in the Room, Samo Coffee, and Bare Bottle in Kuta Square across from Mcdonald’s. I used the laundry directly across from Gracie Kelly’s and it was good.

Final thoughts on staying at Bali Dynasty Resort
The resort is perfect for kids who love to be entertained and always have something to do or kids to meet. If your kids find noise tricky you may need to consider somewhere else to stay, the Dynasty is always full of activities, noise, and music around the pool. I love how the family rooms are great value and would recommend staying with the kids. Can’t wait to take the family back for a longer stay this time!

I note you have done the review for Hard rock and Bali dynasty. Which is better for a family with 2 boys (4 and 10)? We would love massage for ourselves. We might be tagging along my parents (aged 70/72).
Hi, either resort is a lot of fun! Dynasty is busy around the pool and can get a bit much for our son with autism. That being said lots of families love it! I love the rooms by the chill out pool at the Hard Rock that includes Rock Royalty. You still have access to the fun, busy main pool but the chill out pool is great for relaxing by so might be the best option with grandparents. There is however stairs down to the main pool at the Hard Rock. There is wheelchair/no stair access but this is in a different spot to enter. They have plans to build a lift but it hasn’t started yet. Thanks Kate
