Andaz Bali Sanur Review (2026)

This post contains compensated links. Please read our disclaimer for more info.

Note: Andaz Bali hosted us during our stay, but all thoughts are our own.

If you’re looking for a luxury family resort in Sanur, Andaz Bali is hard to beat.

Set right on Sanur Beach, Andaz combines a brilliant central location with beautiful tropical gardens, spacious rooms, excellent dining and a contemporary design inspired by a traditional Balinese village. It feels peaceful and luxurious, but still relaxed enough to work really well for families with older kids and teens.

There are three main pools, plus a separate lagoon pool for Lagoon Access rooms, fantastic dining, plenty to do around the resort and direct access to Sanur’s beachfront path.

The location is a huge plus for us too. Andaz sits nicely between what we think of as North and South Sanur, making it easy to head in either direction and enjoy everything we love about Sanur.

For me, Andaz is the best family resort in Sanur if your budget allows it.

Come explore Andaz Bali with us!

The Village Square is stunning

Why should your family stay at Andaz Bali Sanur?

What I love about Andaz is that it is family-friendly without feeling like a kids’ resort. It works just as well for families travelling with older kids and teens as it does for those with younger children.

  • Everyone has space to do their own thing. Three main pools give you a choice between the beachfront Main Pool, quieter Santhi Pool and Alit Kids Pool, while Lagoon Access rooms have access to a separate lagoon pool.
  • The food is a highlight. The a la carte breakfast is fantastic, Village Square gives everyone plenty of choice, and Fisherman’s Club and the Korean BBQ are great options when you want something a little more special.
  • Older kids and teens aren’t forgotten. They can swim, enjoy one of the organised teen activities, ride along the beachfront path or simply have a little more independence around the resort.
  • Families with younger children are well catered for too. With Sea Turtle Village, a kids’ pool and a great range of activities.
  • Hyatt Regency Bali next door adds even more options. The two resorts sit side by side and share some facilities and experiences, plus it is easy to wander over for different dining and activities. We’ll explain exactly what Andaz guests can and can’t access later in the review.
  • It still feels like a proper luxury holiday for the adults. Beautiful surroundings, great food, peaceful spaces and excellent service mean Mum and Dad aren’t sacrificing their holiday just to keep the kids entertained.

For us, that balance is what makes Andaz stand out. Everyone gets something out of the stay, no matter what age your kids are.

Andaz Bali Sanur Overview

Andaz Bali opened in 2021 and sits on 5.9 hectares of beachfront land in the heart of Sanur. Rather than one large hotel building, Andaz has been designed as a modern interpretation of a Balinese village. Rooms, restaurants, and facilities are spread across clusters of courtyards, tropical gardens, and smaller buildings, giving the resort a much more relaxed, intimate feel.

The gardens are one of the things that make Andaz feel so special. Huge established trees, winding pathways and plenty of greenery separate the different areas of the resort, while Balinese artwork, local craftsmanship and traditional materials are incorporated throughout the design.

At the centre is Village Square, home to several of the resort’s dining options, while the pools, beachfront, Sea Turtle Village and Fisherman’s Club are spread closer to the ocean.

Andaz Bali also sits directly beside Hyatt Regency Bali. The two resorts are connected and share some facilities and experiences, although guests do not have unrestricted access to everything at the neighbouring resort. We’ll go into exactly what Andaz guests can use later in this review.

Despite being a luxury resort, Andaz never feels overly formal. It has the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful design you expect from a high-end Bali resort, but still feels easy and comfortable for families.

Andaz Bali Rooms for Families

Andaz Bali has a great range of rooms, suites and villas, but rather than run through every room type, I’m going to focus on the two that we experienced during our stay: the Andaz Suite and Garden Pool Villa.

One thing we really loved about Andaz was the space. This was also one reason Andaz came out ahead for us when comparing it with Hyatt Regency Bali next door. When you are travelling with older kids and teens, having somewhere to spread out becomes even more important!

Andaz Suite

The Andaz Suite is a great option if you want more room than a standard hotel room without moving up to one of the private pool villas. During our stay at Andaz, we were allocated Andaz Suite 1105 in the DAJA B building near the Shanti Pool.

At 63 sqm, the suite has a king bedroom, separate spacious living area, an additional bathroom and a huge furnished balcony overlooking the tropical gardens. The balcony adds another 39 sqm of outdoor space, so it feels much larger than a standard hotel room.

For us, the layout made the suite work so well. A separate living area meant room to spread out and, with older kids, that little separation makes a big difference.

The main bathroom is spacious with a soaking tub and rain shower, while the second bathroom is another really useful feature when everyone is getting ready at the same time.

Families needing even more space can also book an Andaz Suite connecting with a Twin Room, giving you two proper bedrooms while still keeping everyone together. During a tour in July 2025, I viewed the King Bed room and these rooms have plenty of space!

Garden Pool Villa

When we first arrived at Andaz, we were actually upgraded to a Garden Pool Villa. And wow, it was beautiful! Our villa was Dukuh Villa number 1016.

The 172 sqm villa feels like your own private retreat within the resort, with a large separate living and dining area, pantry, huge bathroom and a gorgeous private garden with your own swimming pool and sunbeds.

We had plenty of time to explore the villa and I have lots of footage to show you just how lovely it is. The private outdoor area is stunning and gives you that villa-style experience we love when staying in Sanur.

Garden Pool Villa guests also receive some extra benefits, including personalised butler service and private in-villa check-in, along with additional villa inclusions such as a complimentary minibar and other premium touches.

But we had one issue. Despite the villa being huge, it is still only one bedroom. With our kids now older, we didn’t really want all four of us sleeping together in the same bedroom. So, as gorgeous as the upgrade was, the sleeping arrangement simply wasn’t the best fit for our family.

For a couple or a family with younger kids who are happy sharing the bedroom, I think the Garden Pool Villa would be an amazing option. You get so much space, your own pool and a real sense of privacy while still having all the facilities of Andaz around you.

Another option worth knowing about: two Garden Pool Villas can connect to create a two-bedroom villa configuration. If you are travelling with older kids, want proper separate bedrooms and the budget allows it, that would be an incredible family setup.

Andaz Suite vs Garden Pool Villa: Which Is Better for Families?

This really comes down to how your family likes to travel. The Garden Pool Villa wins for luxury. You have your own private pool and garden, loads of indoor and outdoor space and the extra villa benefits. But for us, the Andaz Suite was the better fit.

Once kids become teenagers, room layout can be more important than simply having the biggest room. We preferred having more separation rather than all sleeping together in one bedroom, even if that meant giving up the private pool.

So I would look at it this way:

  • Choose the Andaz Suite if you value a more practical layout and some separation between parents and older kids.
  • Choose the Garden Pool Villa if the private pool, garden, and added villa experience matter more and you’re comfortable sharing the bedroom.
  • Choose connecting Garden Pool Villas if you want the best of both worlds. Separate bedrooms plus your own private villa and pool if the budget stretches that far.

Sometimes the most expensive room isn’t automatically the best room for your family. It really comes down to how much space you need and, importantly, where everyone will sleep!

Kemu Mai Kids Club at Andaz Bali

Kemu Mai is Andaz Bali’s kids club, designed for children aged 4 to 12 years and is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm. Andaz guests receive the first two hours per child, per day, complimentary. Additional hours are available for IDR 85,000++ per child.

Children under four can still enjoy Kemu Mai, but they must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or nanny. Andaz can also arrange babysitting if you need some extra help during your stay.

The club has both indoor and outdoor areas, with plenty of room for kids to play, create or just chill out. Daily activities change throughout the week and include batik painting, jewellery and kite making, treasure hunts, Balinese dancing, fish feeding, crafts, and gardening. Some activities are complimentary while others have a small additional charge, so check the current schedule when you arrive.

One thing I liked was that it wasn’t all craft and organised activities. There is also a PlayStation and computers with games, which will definitely appeal to some kids! Parents need to sign a permission form before children can use the technology.

Guests staying at Hyatt Regency may also be able to use Kemu Mai at Andaz, subject to availability and will need to pay the hourly rate with no complimentary hours included. If you are not staying at Andaz or Hyatt Regency, contact the resort directly to check whether outside guests are currently being accepted, as this policy has changed over time.

What About Older Kids and Teens?

Andaz Bali’s Teruna Teruni program is designed especially for teens aged 12 to 16 years, which I love because this age group can so easily be forgotten at family resorts. Activities run daily and include scavenger dives, giant board games, water polo, and the Balinese Kul Kul Parade, plus creative options like pottery painting, henna, and canvas painting. Some activities are complimentary, while selected ones currently cost IDR 100,000++ per person.

For older kids who don’t want structured activities all day, there are also bikes, pools, The Studio, Sea Turtle Village and the Sanur beachfront path to explore.

Swimming Pools at Andaz Bali

Even as our kids have become older, a great pool setup is still high on our list when choosing a Bali resort and Andaz has plenty of choice.

There are three main swimming pools at Andaz Bali, and they all have a very different feel:

  • Liang Main Pool The large beachfront pool and the heart of the resort
  • Santhi Pool A quieter pool tucked amongst the gardens
  • Alit Kids Pool A dedicated shallow pool for younger children

There is also a fourth Lagoon Pool, but it’s specifically for guests staying in the Lagoon Access rooms and suites, rather than another general resort pool.

What we liked about the Andaz pool setup was the choice. You can spend time around the main pool overlooking Sanur Beach when you want more atmosphere, or head back to Santhi Pool when you want somewhere quieter.

Andaz doesn’t have big waterslides or a waterpark-style pool area, so if that is a priority for your kids, it is worth knowing before you book. For us, travelling with older kids, we actually preferred the more relaxed pool atmosphere.

Beachfront pool at Andaz

Liang Main Pool

The Liang Main Pool is Andaz Bali’s main beachfront pool and the one you are most likely to picture when you think of the resort. It sits just back from Sanur Beach, with Fisherman’s Club nearby, so it is an easy spot to spend a good chunk of the day.

This is the livelier of the Andaz pools and tends to attract the most families, but it still has the calm, relaxed feel that we found throughout the resort. The beachfront setting is gorgeous, and you can easily move between the pool, restaurant and beach without trekking across a huge resort.

Sunbeds around Liang can be popular, particularly during busier times, so it is worth getting down earlier if you have your heart set on a particular spot.

Alit Kids Pool

For younger families, Andaz also has the dedicated shallow Alit Kids Pool. It sits toward the beachfront end of the resort near Liang Main Pool, so families with younger children can stay close to the main pool and beach while still having a separate pool designed for kids.

Our kids are well past the little-kids-pool stage now, but I like that Andaz has kept this separate rather than turning its main pool into a big children’s splash area. It helps the resort work for different ages. Younger kids have their own pool, while older kids, teens and adults still have plenty of other choices.

Santhi Pool

If you want something quieter, Santhi Pool is the one to head for. Tucked amongst the tropical gardens and shaded by Andaz’s beautiful established trees, it feels much more peaceful than the main beachfront pool.

Our Andaz Suite was right beside Santhi Pool, which was a huge bonus. It was so easy to wander out for a swim or relax by the pool without having to head down to the busier beachfront area every time.

Because of that, Santhi quickly became one of our favourite spots at the resort. It still feels like a proper resort pool, but with a much calmer atmosphere. Perfect for a swim, reading a book or just escaping the activity around the main pool for a while.

Lagoon Pool

There is also a fourth pool at Andaz that you won’t necessarily use during your stay: the Lagoon Pool.

This long, peaceful pool runs alongside Andaz’s Lagoon Access rooms and suites, allowing guests in these room categories to step straight from their outdoor area into the water. The Lagoon Access rooms are specifically designed around this pool, with balconies and terraces opening directly towards it.

I think the Lagoon Access rooms would particularly suit couples or families who know they will use that direct pool access a lot. Just remember to check the occupancy limits carefully if travelling with older children, as the standard Lagoon Access rooms are designed with younger families in mind.

Lagoon Pool is very private

Beach at Andaz Bali

Andaz has a dedicated beachfront area with sun loungers set up for resort guests, making it easy to move between the beach and Liang Main Pool. Food and drinks can be ordered while you’re there from the Fisherman’s Club pool menu, including snacks, light meals and cocktails, so you don’t need to head back into the restaurant every time you want something. Resort staff service the beachfront setup, and towels are available nearby, making it an easy spot to settle in for a few hours.

Dining at Andaz Bali

Dining was a highlight of our stay at Andaz Bali. There is a really good mix of options, from relaxed breakfasts and coffee in Village Square to beachfront dining at Fisherman’s Club and Korean BBQ at night set up on the grassed area of the Village Square.

The main dining hub is Village Square, designed like the centre of a Balinese village rather than a traditional hotel restaurant. Four different dining concepts sit together here: Wok Wok, Blue Oven, Fire Fox and Deli & Bakery. This means there is plenty of choice without having to wander all over the resort.

Room service is available 24 hours, and you can check out the Room Service Menu here. A great range of dishes and drinks that you can enjoy in your lounge room or outside lounge.

Breakfast at Andaz Bali

Breakfast at Andaz was a big winner for us.

Rather than the huge buffet setup you find at many Bali resorts, you order breakfast a la carte, with dishes freshly prepared. You can keep ordering, so you still get that indulgent resort-breakfast experience without everyone doing laps of a buffet.

Breakfast is served around Village Square and there is a great mix of Indonesian and Western-style options. Breakfast service currently runs from 6:30 am to 11 am.

I really liked this breakfast style. It felt calmer and more relaxed, and with older kids, everyone could just order what they actually wanted rather than piling a plate with food they may or may not eat.

And, very importantly for me, the coffee was good!

Village Square Restaurants

Village Square is one of the things that makes dining at Andaz a little different.

Instead of four completely separate restaurants, Wok Wok, Blue Oven, Fire Fox and Deli & Bakery are grouped around the same open-air village-style space. It has a relaxed feel and works particularly well for families because there is so much variety close together.

Wok Wok focuses on Indonesian comfort food and Balinese favourites, while Blue Oven serves Mediterranean-style dishes. Deli & Bakery is the place for coffee, cakes, desserts and homemade ice cream.

This setup works well with older kids because not everyone wants the same style of food.

Fisherman’s Club

Right on the beachfront, Fisherman’s Club is one of Andaz Bali’s signature restaurants and definitely one I would make time for during a stay.

The focus is on seafood and a contemporary take on Jimbaran-style dining, with fresh local catch, meat dishes and lighter options served overlooking Sanur Beach.

For us, this is one of those restaurants that makes staying at the resort feel a bit special without becoming too formal for a family dinner. And don’t miss out on the epic dessert boat or roasting marshmallows; it’s such a great experience.

Hansik Korean BBQ

One dining experience we really enjoyed was the Hansik Korean BBQ.

The Korean BBQ currently runs Wednesday to Sunday evenings and centres on sharing meats, marinades, and Korean side dishes cooked on the grill.

It is a fun dinner option for older kids and teens because the meal becomes part of the experience, rather than everyone simply ordering a main course and heading back to the room.

Fire Fox has also expanded its Korean offering with Pocha Bar, inspired by Korean late-night dining and drinking culture, which makes the area feel much livelier in the evening.

If you enjoy Korean food, I would definitely check which nights the BBQ is operating before your stay and book it in.

Food Carts Around the Resort

Another fun Andaz touch we noticed was the little food carts dotted around the gardens and pool areas.

They add to that whole Balinese-village feel of the resort and are another example of Andaz making the grounds somewhere you actually want to wander around rather than simply walking from your room to the pool.

Keep an eye out as you explore; what is available can change during your stay.

Things to Do at Andaz Bali

There’s plenty to keep you busy at Andaz Bali beyond the pools, kids club and restaurants. Complimentary bikes, yoga, Pilates, stretching, creative activities like lontar writing and woven coconut leaf making, plus The Andaz Lounge, live sport in The Studio and Sea Turtle Village between Andaz and Hyatt all add to the experience. Some activities are free, while others cost extra, so it’s worth checking what’s on during your stay.

Activities Around the Resort

Check the Explore Andaz Bali board or Andaz Bali links during your stay, as activities change throughout the week.

When we stayed, activities included things like:

  • Yoga & pilates
  • Lontar writing
  • Woven coconut-leaf hat making
  • Cooking experiences

There was also live music around Village Square and Fisherman’s Club, plus traditional Balinese entertainment on selected days. The resort uses Village Square as more than just a place to eat; something is often happening there.

Sea Turtle Village

Sea Turtle Village sits on the beach path between Andaz Bali and Hyatt Regency. It is a shared turtle conservation program, and anyone can drop in to visit.

It is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm, and even if you don’t book an activity, you can stop by to see the turtles and learn more about the conservation work. There is also a donation box if you would like to contribute.

During our stay, we did the turtle feeding and were also lucky enough to see a turtle release on the beach, which was such a beautiful experience. These activities cost extra, and you pay at the desk via cash or card.

Please note that the turtle release will only take place on certain days depending on the hatching process from the turtle eggs rescued from Sanur Beach. It’s definitely worth wandering past while you’re staying at Andaz, especially if your kids love animals and are interested in learning more about these gorgeous animals.

Complimentary Bikes

One of the best ways to explore Sanur is by bike, and Andaz has complimentary bicycles available for in-house guests. The flat beachfront path runs directly past the resort, so you can head off in either direction without having to tackle Bali traffic. This is such a good option with older kids and teens. You can easily ride along the beach, stop somewhere for a drink or ice cream and explore much more of Sanur than you would on foot. You can hire the bikes from the activity hut near the kids pool.

The Andaz Lobby Lounge

Don’t confuse this with an executive or club lounge; the Lounge is available to all Andaz in-house guests. Open daily from 10 am to 10 pm, it is a lovely open space near the lobby and Village Square where you can sit and relax. Complimentary tea, coffee, drinks, and light snacks are available during the day, and the staff will prepare your drinks.

We found it a really nice extra. Sometimes you don’t want another full meal or restaurant stop; you just want somewhere to sit with a drink and grab a quick snack before heading off again.

The Studio

Another space families with older kids should know about is The Studio.

During our stay, we watched the FIFA World Cup at The Studio. Andaz also sets up kids’ movies and other sporting events in the space. This is one of those little things that doesn’t necessarily jump out when you are booking the resort but is really handy with older kids and teens.

Gardens at Andaz Bali

The gardens are one of the things that make Andaz Bali feel so special. The resort is spread across 5.9 hectares, but rather than one big hotel building, the rooms, restaurants and facilities are tucked amongst lush tropical gardens, winding paths, courtyards and huge established trees.

It really does feel more like wandering through a Balinese village than a resort. We loved that there was always something to discover as we walked between our room, the pools and restaurants, and the greenery gives the whole property such a calm, peaceful feel.

Explore Hyatt Regency Bali Next Door

One of the great things about staying at Andaz Bali is having Hyatt Regency Bali right next door. The two resorts are connected by paths through the gardens and along the beachfront, so it’s easy to wander between them.

However, Andaz guests do not automatically have access to all Hyatt Regency facilities. In particular, don’t book Andaz assuming you can use the Hyatt swimming pools and waterslide.

However, some facilities are shared, and there are plenty of other reasons to explore next door.

Path separating Andaz and Hyatt Resorts

Shankha Spa & Fitness Centre

One of the best shared facilities between Andaz Bali and Hyatt Regency is Shankha Spa & Fitness Centre, located between the two resorts.

We had a massage here during our stay, and it was fantastic. The whole spa feels like a little oasis; lush, quiet and incredibly relaxing. There are 10 private spa villas, plus a sauna, steam room plus hot and cold plunge pools.

It’s also worth checking the spa menu. There are personalised yoga and meditation sessions, along with some great wellness packages. One that really caught my eye was the three-day Shankha Wellness Journey, with a different treatment or wellness session each day rather than trying to squeeze everything into one spa visit.

The Fitness Centre is open 24 hours, and Andaz guests can access it with their room key card; I simply used mine when I went to the gym. Guests aged over 16 can use the swimming pool, making it a quiet, relaxing space away from the kids. The pool is open daily from 8 am to 7 pm.

One practical thing to keep in mind: the internal gate connecting Andaz and Hyatt may be closed overnight. If you want to use the gym very early or late, you may need to access it through the Hyatt grounds from the beachfront side, so check the route with the resort.

Camp Hyatt Kids Club

Andaz has its own Kemu Mai Kids Club, but Andaz guests can also use Camp Hyatt at Hyatt Regency Bali.

Camp Hyatt is tucked away in the gardens near Pizzaria and the beachfront, with indoor play areas and a large outdoor playground complete with a pirate ship. It is designed for children aged 4 to 12 years, while children under 4 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or nanny.

Camp Hyatt is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm. Hyatt Regency guests receive their first hour complimentary each day, while Andaz guests pay the current standard rate of IDR 100,000 net per child, per hour, subject to availability.

It’s handy to know this is an option if your kids want a change of scenery or if an activity is running at Camp Hyatt that they would like to join.

Breakfast at Hyatt Regency Bali

You can also mix things up at breakfast. Andaz guests can pay to have a buffet breakfast at Hyatt Regency Bali’s Omang Omang restaurant instead of eating at Andaz.

This gives you a completely different breakfast experience. Andaz offers a beautiful made-to-order breakfast, while Omang Omang offers a more traditional resort buffet.

At the time of writing, Hyatt lists the Omang Omang buffet breakfast at IDR 320,000++ per person, served from 6:30 am to 11 am. Prices can change, so check with the resort during your stay.

I actually think having the choice is useful, particularly on a longer stay. Some families love the slower à la carte breakfast at Andaz (that’s me!), while others (including plenty of teenagers!) love wandering around a big buffet and choosing exactly what they want.

Kate’s Tip: Both Hyatt and Andaz use Milk Lab milk if you are a coffee snob like me and love an almond milk latte.

Andaz guests can also enjoy Omang Omang Restaurant for lunch and dinner from 12 pm to 11 pm.

Pizzaria at Hyatt Regency Bali

Pizzaria Restaurant is a great extra dining option for Andaz guests, sitting right on the beachfront at Hyatt Regency. It’s open daily from 11 am to 11 pm, serving wood-fired pizza, pasta, seafood and other easy Italian favourites. Happy Hour is also on every day from 4 pm to 6 pm.

If you’re staying over the weekend, Pizzaria has a couple of great extras. On Saturday nights from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, they run the Italian Kitchen Party, a fun Italian street-food-style night with food stalls, cocktails, and a more interactive dining setup.

Then on Sundays, there’s Sunday Brunch from 12 pm to 3 pm right on the beachfront, with live cooking stations, grills and carvings, plus acoustic music. As of September 2026, it is IDR 590,000++ per adult, half price for children aged 6 to 12 years and complimentary for under 6s.

Hyatt Regency Pools and Beach

One thing to be clear on: staying at Andaz does not automatically give you access to all the facilities at Hyatt Regency next door.

You can walk between the two resorts, use shared facilities such as Shankha Spa and the Fitness Centre, visit Sea Turtle Village, dine at Hyatt restaurants, pay for the Hyatt buffet breakfast and book Camp Hyatt for an additional fee.

However, the Hyatt Regency pools and waterslide are not officially included with an Andaz stay.

That said, Hyatt staff may sometimes allow Andaz guests to use the pool area at their discretion, particularly if it is quiet. I wouldn’t rely on this when booking; treat it as a bonus if you are given permission rather than an included Andaz benefit.

For me, the real advantage of having Hyatt next door is the extra choice. You get more restaurants, activities and shared facilities within an easy walk, while still coming back to the calmer feel of Andaz.

Outside Andaz Resort

Sanur is an excellent neighbourhood to base yourself in. It’s quieter and more relaxed than the west coast areas of Bali, which makes it far better suited to families. There are lots of activities for kids, and Sanur is a great central location to explore Bali. Check out our blog post on Things to Do with Kids in Bali.

  • The Sanur beachside path runs for several kilometres along the coast and is one of Bali’s nicest flat walks (or bike rides), great at sunrise or in the early evening
  • Sanur features a great range of restaurants and warungs along the beach path and Jalan Danau Tamblingan. Indonesian, Italian, Japanese and everything in between. Some of our favourites are Shotgun Social, Byrdhouse, Genuis Gafe Sanur, Forketta, La Playa, Soul on the Beach and so many more!
  • You can find great coffee in Sanur. My favourites are The Bare Bottle Sanur, Section 9 and Machinery Coffee. The scene is forever changing but I guarantee you will find good coffee in Sanur
  • ICON Mall is about 5 minutes by car or an easy walk along the beach path. Timezone, cinema, shops, supermarkets, dining options and cultural performances
  • Having a Balinese massage is a must, and Sanur has plenty of spas to choose from. Our favourites are The Nest Beachside Spa, a 5-10 minute walk south along the beach path from Andaz and Nest Boutique Spa on Jl Danau Tamblingan
  • Fast boats to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and the Gili Islands depart from Sanur Harbour, making the resort an ideal base for island day trips

Our Tips for Staying at Andaz Bali with Kids

After our stay, these are the things I’d keep in mind when booking Andaz:

  • Join World of Hyatt before booking. It’s free and worth having for member rates and benefits.
  • Choose your room based on layout, not just size. Our Garden Pool Villa was incredible, but with older kids we preferred the separation of the Andaz Suite. If travelling with teens, look closely at sleeping arrangements and connecting-room options. Andaz has a great selection of video tours of the resort.
  • Check the weekly activity schedules when you arrive. Kemu Mai, the Teruna Teruni teen program, and resort activities all change throughout the week, and some activities need to be booked or cost extra.
  • Book the things you really want to do. Popular dining experiences, spa treatments and special activities are worth organising early, especially on weekends or during busy periods.
  • Don’t assume everything at Hyatt Regency is included. Some facilities are shared, and Andaz guests can dine at or pay to use some Hyatt facilities, but the Hyatt pools and waterslide aren’t automatically included with an Andaz stay.
  • Make the most of the location. There is so much within walking or cycling distance of Andaz and Grab is available if you need.
  • Allow time to actually enjoy the resort. We only had two nights, and there was far more happening than we could fit in.

Is Andaz Bali Worth It for Families?

For me, Andaz is the best family resort in Sanur if your budget allows it. What I really like is that it doesn’t feel like a resort designed only for families with little kids. The whole family is well catered for, and the calmer vibe may suit your family as it did ours.

It also works particularly well if you want luxury without a huge resort. There are beautiful pools, excellent food and plenty to do, but it still feels easy to get around plus the location in Sanur is hard to beat!

If your kids want big waterslides and a full-on kids-resort atmosphere, there are better choices in Bali. But if you want a beautiful, luxurious resort that adults, younger kids, and teens can all enjoy, Andaz is hard to beat.

Final Thoughts

We have been staying in Sanur since 2012 and have nearly always chosen villas rather than resorts, so Andaz had a lot to compete with! What impressed me most was how well it combined the things we love about staying in Sanur but with a serving of luxury on the side.

It’s beautiful without feeling too formal, family-friendly without feeling like a kids resort, and there is enough happening that everyone can holiday in their own way.

Two nights definitely wasn’t long enough for us. Andaz is somewhere we would happily return to, and for families looking for a special stay in Sanur, it’s at the top of my list.
